Salamone’s Pizza is a New York-style slice shop on North Tacoma Avenue in the Stadium District, started by a Brooklyn native who missed the pizzerias he grew up with. Slices are sold all day, and the whole pies are named for New York neighborhoods. Certain pies come by the slice on set days: Tribeca on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Gramercy Park on Wednesdays, Hell’s Kitchen on Fridays and Spanish Harlem on Saturdays.
There’s also a daily chef’s choice pie, Grandma-style pan pizza, sausage bread, calzones and stromboli, plus local beer and cider. Build-your-own pies can be made with a gluten-free crust.
