El Toro Mexican Restaurant & Cantina has been serving the West End from North 26th Street since 1982. It belongs to a family-owned group of El Toro restaurants that dates to 1979, and like the others it’s a sit-down restaurant with a full-service cantina stocked for margaritas.
The menu sticks to familiar plates such as chile verde, pulled pork carnitas, flautas, carne asada, enchiladas verdes, chimichangas and a molcajete with marinated chicken, chorizo and peppers. Many dishes can be made gluten-friendly, and takeout, curbside pickup and delivery are available.
