Grann is a dinner restaurant on Sixth Avenue that cooks Southern food with Indian spices, and its name honors the women, especially the grandmothers, who shaped its two chef-owners. The fall menu has sweet potato cornbread with Kashmiri butter, vindaloo mussels with andouille, smoked turkey curry with rice and roti, lamb ragu over cheesy grits and duck gumbo. Vegetarian and vegan dishes are marked, like the coconut collard greens.
Reservations cover the dining room, while bar seats are first come, first served. Some cocktails work in garam masala or tamarind, and happy hour runs Tuesday through Friday.
