La Vecindad de Seattle is a Northeast Tacoma restaurant a few blocks from the Federal Way line, themed around the Mexican TV show El Chavo del Ocho. The kitchen leans traditional, with tacos de canasta steamed with beans and chicharrón, gueritos de camarón (yellow peppers stuffed with shrimp), lengua in salsa verde and tamarind-chipotle ribs.
Quesabirria, street tacos and tortas are on the menu too, along with burgers made with chorizo or birria. Weekend brunch brings chilaquiles, egg dishes and fruit pancakes.
