Sushi Tama is a Japanese restaurant on Sixth Avenue with a sushi bar, where seats can be reserved by calling ahead and walk-ins are welcome. The chef has nearly 50 years in kitchens behind him, including restaurants in New York City, Key West, Aspen, Portland and Mexico City. The fish comes from local suppliers, and local produce is used when possible.
Expect rolls, sashimi, tempura and miso soup. Takeout can be ordered online. The restaurant also makes sushi boxes for birthdays and anniversaries and caters private events.
