Torero’s took over the former Azteca building on Tacoma Mall Boulevard in fall 2024, the second restaurant for a family-owned business that started in Renton. The menu sticks to sit-down Mexican standards: combination plates with chimichangas, chile rellenos and tamales, sizzling fajitas with corn or house-made flour tortillas, and platters of carne asada and carnitas.
The kitchen skips lard and trans fats and offers vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options. Margaritas come in 20-ounce pours, cocktails use fresh juices, and there are weekday lunch specials and a daily happy hour.
