Ginkgo Forest Winery grows its grapes on the Wahluke Slope near Mattawa and opened a Tacoma tasting room in 2013, on North 30th Street in Old Town. Owner and winemaker Mike Thiede works with estate-grown grapes and makes a wide range: varietals, blends, dessert wines, port-style and fortified wines, and organic wines. Almost a thousand ginkgo trees have been planted around the winery back in Mattawa.
