Side Piece Kitchen is a scratch biscuit and cheesecake shop on South Oakes Street in South Tacoma, owned and run by restaurant workers. Everything comes on a biscuit, either buttermilk or cheddar-garlic. Biscuits and gravy come with sausage or mushroom gravy, and the sandwiches include the Hot Hitter, with bacon, egg, pickled jalapeño and tomato jam, plus a plant-based sausage option.
New cheesecake flavors arrive every week, and specials are posted on Instagram. It opens in the morning and closes when the food sells out. Dine-in is 21 and over.
