Tacoma Yacht Club goes back to 1889, when 26 sail and power boaters met to organize it six weeks before Washington became a state. The clubhouse is on Yacht Club Road near Point Defiance, and its restaurant and lounge look out on the water, the city and the mountains.
It’s a private club, not a public restaurant. The dining room is open to members, members of reciprocal yacht clubs and their guests, and reservations are preferred. Members can also book the clubhouse for weddings, reunions and private parties.
