Wooden City is a downtown restaurant and bar serving comforting American food, now on Broadway after moving from its old spot on Pacific Avenue. It’s dinner only, and the bar stays open an hour after the kitchen closes.
Wood-fired pizzas, including a vegan one, share the menu with small plates like peel ‘n’ eat shrimp and beef tartare and mains such as spicy lamb rigatoni, chicken schnitzel, steak frites and a 20-ounce dry-aged ribeye. Burgers can be made with a veggie patty or a gluten-free bun. Reservations are recommended, though walk-in tables and bar seats are available.
