Tacoma Buddhist Temple Fall Bazaar 2026: Baked Goods and Produce, Sun, Nov 1 · Tacoma Buddhist Temple

The Tacoma Buddhist Temple holds its Fall Bazaar on Sunday, November 1, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It takes place in the temple’s social hall at 1717 South Fawcett Avenue, a few blocks from UW Tacoma.

The bazaar is one of the temple’s annual fundraisers. This year the food side centers on three bazaar favorites, beef curry, udon and daifuku mochi, sold as pre-ordered meals for pickup. The temple pitches it as a no-cook Sunday.

One catch: the meal pre-order closed on October 24, so the curry, udon and mochi are spoken for. If you placed an order, check in at the social hall to pick up your meals.

What’s open to everyone

Walk-in visitors can still shop the rest of the bazaar:

  • Baked goods
  • Fall vegetables
  • A rummage sale on the temple stage

The rummage sale features Japanese dishware, artwork and home accessories donated by the temple community. The temple says it takes both credit cards and cash for rummage purchases.

If you can’t make it, the temple accepts donations toward the fundraiser on its website. Questions go to [email protected].

The temple’s other food fundraiser

The temple also runs a sukiyaki fundraiser, a dine-in and takeout meal it has held for nearly 65 years. Each sukiyaki is cooked in its own individual pan, a method the temple says is unique to it. The 2026 meal also offered chicken teriyaki, with Japanese rice, Yotsuuye-recipe tsukemono and a mochi cupcake. The 2027 date hasn’t been posted yet.
