Taste of Asia Pacific: Tokelau Food at APCC in Tacoma on Nov. 7, Sat, Nov 7 · Asia Pacific Cultural Center

The Asia Pacific Cultural Center’s monthly Taste of Asia Pacific series features Tokelau on Saturday, November 7, 2026. The session starts at 11 a.m. at APCC, 4851 South Tacoma Way in South Tacoma, and the center asks guests to come early for check-in.

Each month the series focuses on the food of one country from the Asia-Pacific region. Presenters teach how to make traditional dishes, and guests are among the first to taste them. APCC first launched a monthly Taste of Asia program in 2008.

Tokelauan cooking

APCC describes Tokelauan cuisine as built on coconut, seafood and preserved staples, with mild, clean and subtly sweet island flavors. The center hasn’t put the specific dishes or the presenter on its website. It announces each month’s dishes and presenters on its social media pages, so look there for the menu.

Tokelau is one of the 47 countries and cultures APCC represents, and the center invites guests to wear traditional attire from the featured country.

Tickets and timing

Advance tickets are $20 for APCC members and $25 for everyone else, sold through APCC’s online ticket page. The listing gives the 11 a.m. start but no end time.

Tokelau is the 11th of 12 countries in the 2026 lineup. Mongolia closes out the year on Saturday, December 5, and APCC hasn’t posted its 2027 countries yet.

APCC celebrated the grand opening of its two-story center on South Tacoma Way in August 2025, and it marks its 30th anniversary this November.
